Pan America 1250 Special Review

The 2022 Pan America 1250 Special is a premier 2-wheel multi-tool. You could crisscross the whole American hemisphere on this adventure touring bike—but let’s start smaller than that.

Smaller like right here in Richmond Hill, Markham, or Vaughan. At Pfaff Harley-Davidson here in Ontario, we want to introduce a little adventure into your life. See what this motorcycle has in store as you read our review and reach out to us to learn more.

What Makes this Bike Special?

This motorcycle was built for one purpose only: to compete with the most impressive ADV bikes in the segment. Yes, the Pan America 1250 Special is more than your average adventure bike. Just look closely at its most premium features, and you’ll see how it stands out:

  • Semi-Active Front and Rear Suspension with Vehicle Load Control
  • Aluminum Skid Plate
  • Daymaker™ Signature Adaptive Headlamp
  • Multi-Position Rear Brake Pedal
  • Heated Hand Grips

A few factory-installed options are available, too, like Adaptive Ride Height. Lower the seat height when stopped for more confidence-inspiring comfort.

Features like these distinguish the “Special” version from the standard Pan America 1250. If you want to load up on premium technology and off-road features, this bike has it all.

Rev up the Revolution™ Max 1250

The next generation of bold V-Twin power has arrived. When you ride the Pan America 1250 Special, you get to rev up the all-new Revolution™ Max 1250 engine. This liquid-cooled powertrain promises low-end acceleration off the line and plenty of control over your ride.

Here are the engine and performance specs:

  • Bore: 105 mm (4.12 in)
  • Stroke: 72.3 mm (2.85 in)
  • Displacement: 1,252 cc (76.4 cu in)
  • Engine Torque: 127 Nm (94 lb-ft) @ 6,750 rpm
  • Horsepower: 150 HP / 112 kW @ 9,000 rpm

Taking the road less travelled? The semi-active front and rear suspension will be there for you. With a special Off-Road mode, it can help you maintain traction and control even when the terrain gets rough.

The DayMaker™ Signature Adaptive Headlamp

Look ahead—pure white light. The kind of pure white light that feels like driving during the day. The kind that spreads outward, into corners, lighting up areas of the road or trail that otherwise would remain in darkness. That’s the Daymaker™ Signature Adaptive Headlamp in action.

The main Daymaker™ headlamp is flanked by three LED elements on each side. These lamps illuminate in sequence based on the lean angle of the motorcycle (at eight, 15, and 23 degrees). You’ll light up more of your surroundings and ride safer on the Pan America 1250 Special.

Those adaptive elements don’t just switch on and off. No—the current to them ramps up gradually, so you see a gradual increase in light. It makes for more seamless illumination.
