Not everyone buys a motorcycle for the same reasons. Because of this, Harley-Davidson® makes a variety of models and styles to fit a variety of riders and their needs. Two of the company’s most popular bike groups are touring bikes and cruisers. They sit on opposite ends of the function and purpose spectrum, but for those who need these specific features, they’re essential. So how do you know which one is right for you? That’s where Pfaff Harley-Davidson® comes in. We’ve provided a breakdown of each motorcycle group so you can decide which one is best going to suit your riding style and needs. When you’re ready to see some of these models in person, stop by our location in Richmond Hill, Ontario. We welcome all riders from Toronto, Vaughan, Markham, Mississauga, and Brampton, Ontario.
Touring Bikes
Touring bikes, made for long distance riding, are built to help you clock the extra miles and still enjoy your time on the road. They feature large engines for extra power and extra torque so no matter how long your trip is, your bike won’t putter out. They’re also heavier bikes. Not only is this to accommodate the bigger engines, but it’s helpful when you’re passing semis at high speeds. You’ll want the extra weight to keep you grounded and secure. This extra weight can make them difficult to handle for inexperienced riders, but they’ll be worth it if you intend to make use of these features.
They also take in other important factors, such as the extra space you’ll need to store extra luggage. Touring bikes come with more cargo options than the other motorcycles and additional aftermarket options. You’ll also get more comfortable features so you won’t be as exhausted at the end of the day. From ergonomic seats and controls to windshields, you’ll be completely set for even the longest legs of your trip. And if you’re bringing along a friend to enjoy the trip with, you’ll be happy to know that many touring bikes come with a second seat.
Cruisers
However, long distance riding can be tiring and it’s not for everyone. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the cool style and power of a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. If all you want is a stylish way to get around town and travel short distances on, then you’ll probably be more interested in cruisers. These bikes are slimmer and won’t have all the extra baggage that touring bikes do. You don’t lose storage space altogether, you just won’t have as much of it.
What you will have is style, and lots of it. Cruisers enhance all the best parts about owning a motorcycle. Whether you’re looking for a bike that has all the modern and sleek style of some of today’s most iconic rides, featuring blacked out parts, slim chassis, and chromed out wheels, or you’re looking for a throwback to a more classic style, from bobber to chopper, there are cruisers that roll out of the factory with these awesome styling features. Then again, not everyone is satisfied by what rolls out of the factory. Luckily for you, Harley-Davidson® is famous for its customization options. You can choose to upgrade your ride with one of the special customization packages that match styling features and performance features so you’ll have a coherent look, or you can choose individual parts that catch your eye. You’ll have a lot to choose from, but in the end, you’ll have a bike that you’ll want to show off every time you leave the house.
Still not convinced? The only way you’re going to know for sure which option is right for you is to come view some of the models for yourself.
